Canal scissors are handmade and it takes about 45 steps to complete one of these precision instruments. The screws can be tightened at any time. Precisely matched cutting surfaces right to the tip characterize Canal scissors. This allows for continuous cutting without interruption and results in a smooth nail edge without the need for further filing.

All our manicure cases are handmade. They optimally protect the instruments and are conveniently accessible when traveling or in your handbag. In addition, they are visually striking due to their high-quality workmanship and
noble colors.

High-Quality Workmanship

Pliers with box joints are particularly heavy-duty. Here, one plier jaw is pushed through the slotted other jaw and welded to the plier handles. A large proportion of our pliers are manufactured in this high-quality way. In addition to their high load capacity, their long service life is also crucial. In stores, you often find pliers with
screwed joints. They are less complex to manufacture and therefore cheaper, but their service life also ends when the joint screw loosens.

Pliers with leverage – recognizable by more than one joint – can be used with great force-saving thanks to the leverage, which is very helpful when physical strength diminishes, with strong nails, or for daily professional use.

Diamond Coatings & Glass Files

Canal diamond nail and callus files are equipped with an extremely robust diamond coating that lasts about 10 years with professional, daily use. In private use, they can even be used for up to 50 years. Should the abrasive power diminish, it is sufficient to clean the file under running water – thanks to the high-quality, rust-free material, this is easily possible.

Canal glass files, made of genuine, specially hardened glass, can also be easily cleaned under water and retain their abrasive power for a lifetime.

Wooden Brushes & Natural Bristles

Canal Instruments places great emphasis on natural materials – wooden pins of hairbrushes are anti-static, boar bristles restore shine to dry hair, and our combs made of Cellid (cotton) are hand-sawn. This protects the hair as the edges are rounded.

Nickel

Some products – such as our top-selling nail clipper – are nickel-plated. For this product, this material is deliberately chosen because nickel plating makes the material harder and thus more stable and durable.

Recycled Products

A large proportion of our sandpaper files are made from recycled or partially recycled plastic, and the felt cases are even
100% made from recycled material. Our cases made from truck tarpaulin are made from offcuts, which are thus put to a meaningful use.

Our precision instruments rightly bear this name, because their precision is meticulously checked. We attach great
importance to high quality – not only in terms of material and workmanship – the decisive difference of a Canal product also lies in its accuracy.

Through local collaborations, such as the cooperation with Lebenshilfe Vorarlberg*, we make a social contribution to our society and give people with disabilities the opportunity to perform valuable work.

Social participation and the feeling of being needed strengthens their self-confidence and is something special for them. Since 1999
people with disabilities have been supporting us in packaging our products.

Presentation products such as our high-quality wooden change trays and the modern & practical instrument holders made of oak are also manufactured by Lebenshilfe Vorarlberg.
